Washington Assembly of God
School of Bible & Ministry

School of Bible & Ministry

Purpose: Washington Assembly’s School of Bible & Ministry (SOBM)was created to help fulfill the biblical command to equip believers for the work of ministry and the building up of the body of Christ. (Eph 4:11-13)

Approach: SOBM provides a university level of education in biblical studies and ministry paired with a monthly classroom gathering. SOBM uses a hybrid model of online classwork, in-class discussions, and practical interactive approaches to provide both education and practical training in areas of Bible (hermeneutics, exposition, theology), ministry (leadership, ethics, conflict management, church administration), and interactive times of discussion and training with seasoned ministers. For those seeking to become a credentialed minister, we offer additional courses in church history and policy, as well as a ministry practicum.

Goals:  1. Challenge believers to grow in their knowledge of God’s Word and their faith

            2. Furnish believers with tools what will enable them to minister more effectively

            3. Assist believers in discovering their God-given giftings

            4. Support believers who are interested in becoming credentialed in ministry
